Job Description
Azure AI Engineer (Agentic Solutions, Azure AI Foundry)
Role:
We are looking for a mid-level Azure AI Engineer to design, build, and operationalize agentic AI solutions on the Microsoft Azure stack, with a primary focus on Azure AI Foundry. You will partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate operational and sales workflows into multi-agent systems that automate decisioning, document review, research, drafting, and lifecycle management. The role sits at the intersection of applied AI engineering, enterprise integration, and product thinking, and is well suited to someone who enjoys taking ambiguous business problems and shipping reliable, production-grade AI agents end to end.
Responsibilities:
• Agent design and development. Design and build single-agent and multi-agent solutions on Azure AI Foundry, including orchestration, tool use, function calling, retrieval augmented generation, and structured outputs.
• Solution architecture. Define end-to-end architectures spanning Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Power Automate, Logic Apps, Functions, and event-driven integration patterns with enterprise systems such as Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
• Prompt and behavior engineering. Develop, evaluate, and iterate on prompts, system instructions, taxonomies, and tool schemas. Tune agents for accuracy, latency, and cost across classification, extraction, decisioning, and drafting tasks.
• Evaluation and quality. Build evaluation harnesses, golden datasets, and observability dashboards. Drive measurable improvement release over release.
• AI safety and responsible AI. Implement guardrails for prompt injection, PII and PCI handling, content safety, grounding, and human in the loop checkpoints aligned with enterprise responsible AI standards.
• MLOps and deployment. Containerize, deploy, and operate agents using Azure DevOps. Manage environments, secrets via Azure Key Vault, model versions, and prompt versions across dev, test, and production.
• Integration and data. Build connectors and APIs that allow agents to read and write across CRM, ERP, ticketing, knowledge bases, and unstructured document stores. Work with structured data, documents, and email content.
• Documentation and enablement. Produce clear technical designs, runbooks, and enablement material for downstream developers, operators, and business users.
Qualifications:
• 3 to 6 years of professional software or AI engineering experience, with at least 1 to 2 years building LLM powered applications in production.
• Hands on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service.
• Working knowledge of Azure services including Functions, Logic Apps, Power Automate, AI Search, Storage, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
• Experience integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365, the Power Platform, or Microsoft 365 services.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous processing, event-driven design, and identity and access control on Azure.
• Experience embedding responsible AI controls including PII and PCI redaction, content filtering, and prompt injection defenses.
• Experience designing agentic patterns such as planner-executor, tool calling, retrieval augmented generation, multi-agent orchestration, and memory.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, evaluation methodologies, and prompt and model versioning.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications, for example AI-102 or AZ-204.
