Cloud Engineer (AWS / Azure)
A Cloud Engineer is responsible for managing a company's cloud-based systems and processes. This includes deploying applications on the cloud, monitoring performance, and ensuring the infrastructure is secure and cost-effective.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Migration: Moving physical on-premise servers and applications to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Infrastructure Management: Setting up virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
- Security Compliance: Implementing security protocols (IAM roles, Firewalls) to protect data in the cloud.
- Automation: Using tools to automate the deployment and scaling of applications (Infrastructure as Code).
- Monitoring: Tracking system health and troubleshooting downtime or performance lags.
- Experience Requirements:
- Freshers (0-1 year): Basic understanding of networking, Linux/Windows servers, and a fundamental certification (like AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals AZ-900).
- Mid-Level (2-5 years): Hands-on experience managing production environments, configuring VPCs/VNets, and using automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Senior Level (5+ years): Designing complex cloud architectures, optimizing cloud costs, and leading disaster recovery strategies.
- Technical Skills Required:
- Platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
- OS: Strong command over Linux/Unix and Windows Server.
- DevOps Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Networking: Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, and Load Balancers.
- Average Salary:
- Entry Level: 4 Lakhs - 7 Lakhs per year.
- Experienced: 12 Lakhs - 25 Lakhs+ per year (Highly dependent on certifications).
