About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex cloud infrastructure projects, focusing on AWS, Databricks, and CI/CD automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud environments, primarily on AWS, and supporting data platforms built on Databricks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software engineering, data engineering, and architecture, to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance system performance. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for automation and cloud technology. The role is based in Bangalore with US shift hours (6.00 pm to 3.00 am), offering an excellent platform for professional growth in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of four years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related roles is essential. Candidates must have practical experience working with the Databricks platform, including cluster setup, job execution, and notebook management. Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and Lambda is required. Experience with CI/CD tools like CloudBees or Jenkins, along with version control systems such as Git, is necessary. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and DataDog is also important. A strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and system architecture principles is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong scripting skills in Python and Groovy, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Responsibilities
The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and cost-effective. You will design, build, and oversee Databricks infrastructure on AWS, supporting deployment and operationalization of data platforms, including cluster management and job orchestration. Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation will be a key part of your role, enabling automation and repeatability. Developing automation scripts and tools in Python and Shell Scripting will help streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
You will design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using CloudBees (Jenkins) to support application and data platform deployments. Collaborating with software engineering, data engineering, and architecture teams, you will enable reliable and efficient delivery pipelines. Monitoring system performance, availability, and reliability using enterprise monitoring solutions will be essential to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshooting production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive actions will be part of your daily responsibilities.
Ensuring compliance with security, governance, and quality standards set by TE Connectivity is crucial. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with DevOps best practices and operational excellence, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency within the team.
