About The Role
The Azure Cloud Engineer at Pellera Technologies plays a pivotal role in designing, deploying, supporting, and optimizing cloud solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform. This position involves working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure the deployment of secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments. The engineer is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices to maximize performance and cost-efficiency. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a passion for cloud technology, who thrives in a dynamic environment that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of five years of overall IT experience, with at least three years dedicated to Microsoft Azure, is required. Relevant certifications such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) are highly preferred, with additional certifications like AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) and AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) considered a strong advantage. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cloud architecture, security, and operational best practices, along with excellent problem-solving skills. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and experience working within managed services or MSP environments is also highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage service requests, incidents, and change management processes in accordance with SLAs and operational procedures.
- Provide advanced technical support (L2/L3) for Azure environments, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and high customer satisfaction.
- Participate actively in incident response, escalation procedures, and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients and internal teams regarding service status, risks, and ongoing improvements.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS solutions, following industry best practices.
- Implement and manage identity, security, and governance tools such as Azure AD, RBAC, PIM, and policies to ensure compliance and security.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, scalability, and reliability, leveraging Azure native tools and services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Support onboarding processes for new environments and clients, ensuring smooth transition and integration into managed services.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, and application teams to deliver integrated and secure solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and runbooks to facilitate operational excellence.
- Continuously evaluate new Azure features and recommend improvements to enhance existing cloud environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support activities to ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Work within multi-tenant environments, managing shared services and ensuring tenant isolation and security.
- Understand and apply cost management and FinOps principles to optimize cloud expenditure.
