About The Role
The Associate Cloud Engineer at Nuvama Group plays a vital role in supporting and maintaining our cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure platforms. This position is ideal for professionals with 3 to 5 years of experience who are eager to deepen their expertise in cloud operations, security governance, and cost management. The role involves assisting in daily cloud activities, monitoring resource utilization, supporting billing processes, and executing standard optimization and security procedures under the guidance of senior engineers. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring our cloud environments are secure, cost-efficient, and compliant with organizational policies, while gaining valuable experience in cloud engineering practices and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud support, operations, or engineering roles.
- Proficiency in managing AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud native services, infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep.
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, CSPM tools, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps principles.
- Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and basic containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with command-line tools and remote access utilities such as PuTTY.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day cloud operations across AWS and Azure environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Monitor cloud resources for anomalies, security alerts, and performance issues using dashboards and monitoring tools.
- Log, track, and follow up on incidents, service requests, and operational issues with support teams and internal SMEs.
- Assist in maintaining cloud resource inventory, configuration management, and documentation updates.
- Support cloud cost management activities by monitoring budgets, usage, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Help implement and validate resource tagging, cost allocation, and billing standards.
- Prepare basic reports on cloud spend, utilization, and optimization initiatives, tracking KPIs such as cost reduction and resource utilization.
- Support security posture monitoring, review security alerts, and execute predefined remediation steps for low-risk issues.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies, access controls, encryption, and logging standards.
- Review and validate invoices, usage reports, and billing statements, escalating discrepancies as needed.
- Support automation efforts by maintaining and updating Infrastructure as Code templates and executing provisioning tasks.
- Assist in onboarding new cloud services, vendors, and tools, ensuring adherence to governance and security protocols.
- Support system setup, configuration, and validation of cloud-native and third-party monitoring, security, and billing tools.
- Participate in troubleshooting cloud issues, collecting logs and metrics to aid root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, security, finance, and operations to support cloud governance and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with change management, incident management, and documentation standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of processes, issues, and resolutions, and actively seek learning opportunities to enhance skills.
