About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge cloud environment, focusing on migrating existing products and developing new solutions within our cloud platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and expanding our infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and secure. You will collaborate closely with software engineering teams to build fault-tolerant and resilient services, leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies and automation. This position is vital to our ongoing efforts to enhance our cloud capabilities, improve system performance, and ensure the highest levels of security and reliability.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. You should have at least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing automated solutions in cloud environments. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will act as a technical lead, guiding and mentoring team members. Hands-on experience with cloud providers, especially AWS, is required, including deploying and maintaining production infrastructure. Familiarity with distributed systems, container orchestration (notably Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines is critical. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash, along with expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Crossplane, is necessary. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk or Grafana, and experience supporting Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Oversee and improve systems for alerting, logging, backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop fault-tolerant, resilient, and secure cloud services aligned with best practices.
- Enhance the performance and reliability of CI/CD pipelines, integrating tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Implement security best practices across all cloud infrastructure and services, continuously monitoring for vulnerabilities.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for ongoing engineering projects and incident response.
- Automate administrative tasks and workflows using APIs and scripting to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.
