About The Role
FICO is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in migrating existing products to our cloud platform and developing new products within our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions. Your expertise will help optimize our cloud operations, improve system resilience, and ensure seamless deployment processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, influence cloud strategy, and lead initiatives that shape the future of FICO’s technology landscape.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or related roles is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in designing and implementing automated solutions, with hands-on experience in cloud providers, preferably AWS. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, container orchestration (notably Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, and ArgoCD is essential. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Crossplane, scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash, and monitoring tools like Splunk or Grafana is also required. Leadership skills are highly valued, as the role involves acting as a technical lead and guiding team members through complex projects. Additionally, experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and automation via APIs will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and expanding FICO’s cloud infrastructure, primarily managed as Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will oversee systems related to alerting, logging, backups, disaster recovery, and monitoring to ensure high availability and resilience. Collaborating with software engineering teams, you will develop fault-tolerant and resilient services aligned with best practices, emphasizing security and compliance at every stage. You will optimize and improve the performance and durability of our CI/CD pipelines, facilitating continuous integration and deployment processes. The role also involves automating administrative tasks via APIs, scripting, and infrastructure automation tools. As a technical leader, you will mentor junior team members, lead project initiatives, and act as a point of contact for cloud-related engineering activities. Additionally, you may be required to participate in on-call rotations to provide support during critical incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of issues.
Benefits
FICO offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and professional growth of its employees. You will be part of an inclusive culture that emphasizes core values such as ownership, customer satisfaction, and mutual respect. The company provides competitive compensation, performance-based rewards, and benefits programs that recognize your contributions.
