About The Role
FICO is seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in migrating existing products to our cloud platform and developing new cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical expertise, and demonstrate leadership qualities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure, ensuring system resilience, and optimizing performance across our cloud environment. Your contributions will directly impact FICO's ability to deliver innovative products and services efficiently and securely.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with relevant professional experience. You should have at least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles, with a proven track record of managing cloud infrastructure in a production environment. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will act as a technical lead for your team. Expertise in AWS cloud services, including deploying and maintaining production applications, is required. Additionally, you should have extensive experience with distributed systems, container orchestration (particularly Kubernetes), and automation tools. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Crossplane, CI/CD pipelines, scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Ruby, and monitoring tools like Splunk or Grafana are also necessary.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure, primarily using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Oversee and optimize systems for alerting, logging, backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to build fault-tolerant, resilient services aligned with best practices and security standards.
- Enhance the performance and reliability of CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Implement security best practices across all cloud infrastructure and applications, maintaining a proactive security posture.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support ongoing engineering projects and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly.
- Lead by example to foster a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.
- Support and maintain Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to facilitate project management and collaboration.
