About The Role
FICO is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team. This role is pivotal in supporting the migration of existing products to cloud infrastructure and spearheading the development of new cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS, ensuring that our systems are secure, efficient, and highly available. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud projects, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of FICO’s product suite.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. You should have a proven track record of designing and deploying highly automated infrastructure solutions, with extensive hands-on experience in cloud environments, particularly AWS. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to act as a technical lead are essential. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, container orchestration (especially Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane is required. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, and ArgoCD is critical. Additionally, experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Splunk or Grafana, scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Ruby, and hosting Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
As an AWS Cloud Engineer at FICO, your responsibilities will include designing, maintaining, and expanding our cloud infrastructure, primarily through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will oversee systems related to alerting, logging, backups, disaster recovery, and monitoring to ensure optimal system performance and resilience. Collaborating closely with software engineering teams, you will help build fault-tolerant and resilient services aligned with best practices. Improving the efficiency and reliability of our CI/CD pipelines will be a key focus, with an emphasis on automation and security. You may be required to participate in on-call rotations to provide support for engineering projects and incident response. Your role will also involve contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring junior team members, and continuously exploring innovative solutions to enhance our cloud platform's capabilities.
