About The Role
FICO is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer who thrives working in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art cloud environment. This pivotal role involves spearheading the migration of existing products to the cloud and developing new offerings within our cloud platform. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and expanding our cloud infrastructure, primarily leveraging AWS services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build resilient, scalable, and secure systems that align with best practices in cloud architecture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cloud innovation, contributing directly to FICO’s strategic initiatives and technological advancements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. You should demonstrate a strong ability to design and implement automated, holistic solutions in cloud environments. Proven experience acting as a technical lead, guiding teams through complex projects, is essential. Hands-on expertise with AWS, including deploying and managing production infrastructure, is required. You should have substantial experience with distributed systems, container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines involving tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, and ArgoCD. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Crossplane, scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash, and familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk or Grafana are also important. A security-first mindset and experience automating administrative tasks via APIs will set you apart.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, maintaining, and expanding cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. You will oversee systems related to alerting, logging, backups, disaster recovery, and monitoring to ensure optimal performance and resilience. Collaborating with software engineering teams, you will help build fault-tolerant and resilient services that adhere to infrastructure best practices. You will work to improve the efficiency and reliability of our CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless deployment workflows. Security considerations will be integrated into all aspects of your work, ensuring compliance and safeguarding company assets. Additionally, you may be required to participate in on-call rotations to support ongoing engineering projects and address any urgent issues that arise. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members, sharing best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the cloud engineering domain.
