About The Role
FICO is actively seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Engineering team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security, infrastructure design, and migration strategies, with a passion for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will collaborate closely with security teams, product teams, and infrastructure engineers to develop and implement secure cloud solutions, migrate existing products, and support the development of new offerings within our cloud platform. Your expertise will help FICO maintain its position as a leader in cloud technology and ensure our solutions are robust, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive set of qualifications, including:
- Advanced experience working in an AWS environment, with a deep understanding of AWS services and architecture.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on security and infrastructure.
- Proven expertise with AWS security services such as AWS Shield, AWS Trusted Advisor, Macie, IAM, AWS WAF, and CloudTrail.
- Hands-on experience with AWS App Runner, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
- Strong background in designing secure cloud architectures and implementing best practices in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with security tooling such as Cloud Custodian, Qualys, Vault, CyberArk, Vormetric, and Splunk.
- Ability to write and enforce security policies tailored for cloud environments.
- Familiarity with identity providers (IDP), preferably Okta, for access management and authentication.
- Relevant AWS certifications are highly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Collaborate with security teams to define and implement security standards and best practices within AWS environments.
- Ensure the availability of appropriate tooling and functionality to meet security and operational requirements in the cloud.
- Provide expert guidance to product teams on migrating existing applications to AWS securely and efficiently.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure all solutions meet FICO’s security standards and compliance requirements.
- Advise on AWS best practices for security, scalability, and cost-efficiency across multiple teams.
- Assist the Infrastructure Engineering team in designing and maintaining secure shared AWS infrastructure components.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and automation to enhance cloud security posture.
- Support cross-platform compatibility and integration efforts to ensure seamless operation across various environments.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, trends, and best practices to continuously improve our security framework.
