About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Metrix IT Solutions Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on AWS, with a focus on automation, security, and cost optimization. You will work closely with clients, architects, and development teams to deliver robust cloud environments and streamline deployment processes through automation and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cloud services, scripting, and automation tools, with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Qualifications
Proven experience of 0-2 years in cloud computing, automation, and DevOps practices is preferred. Candidates should possess relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator. Hands-on knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or JavaScript is essential. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, as well as CI/CD platforms like Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline, is required. Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented mindset are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Lead architecture and design discussions with clients and internal teams to develop scalable cloud solutions that adhere to best practices and industry standards. Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as Landing Zone, Control Tower, Transit Gateway, IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, Load Balancers, and Auto Scaling. Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline deployment, configuration, and management processes, ensuring high levels of security, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy to enable continuous integration and delivery.
Support containerization initiatives by provisioning and managing Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, and OpenShift environments, ensuring seamless orchestration and deployment. Collaborate with application development teams to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment, fostering a DevOps culture. Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, security, and cost, implementing improvements proactively. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing. Manage customer engagements independently, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations. Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders to address project challenges, delays, or gaps, and propose effective solutions.
Participate in technology evaluations and recommend best-fit solutions aligned with client needs and industry standards such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Lead efforts in security posture enhancement, including implementing identity and access management policies, monitoring security alerts, and ensuring compliance. Support asset development and documentation to maintain a repository of best practices, automation scripts, and infrastructure templates. Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and process improvement to enhance system stability, security, and operational efficiency.
