About the role
We manage production Azure estates for enterprise customers and we're hiring an architect who can design it and stand behind it when it breaks. This is a hands-on infrastructure architecture role. You will own how the platform is built, how it is secured, how it recovers, and how much it costs. You will be expected to know the version numbers running in your own environment and to explain the reasoning behind every tool in the stack.
What you'll own
- Infrastructure design end to end: Compute, storage account architecture (tier, redundancy, lifecycle, firewall and private endpoint design), managed disk selection and performance tuning, VNet topology, hybrid connectivity, and Azure Arc for servers and Kubernetes outside Azure.
- Disaster recovery you have actually tested: Define RTO/RPO with the business, design the DR topology, build it in Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup, and run real failover and failback drills. Documented-but-never-executed DR is a failure state here.
- Automation as the default: Author and maintain Terraform modules, manage remote state and drift, and build the pipelines that deploy them. Manual portal changes are the exception, and every exception has a reason.
- AKS in production: Cluster and node pool design, version lifecycle and upgrade cadence, ingress controller selection and upgrades, networking model, and workload identity.
- Platform operations at scale: Azure Lighthouse for delegated multi-tenant management, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics workspace design, Azure Update Manager, and Azure Backup.
- Security and cost: Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID and RBAC, Key Vault, secure score remediation, plus FinOps ownership: cost modelling, right-sizing, reservations and savings plans, and anomaly investigation.
- Staying ahead of the platform: Track Azure Service Health advisories, service retirements, and roadmap changes, and drive the remediation work they trigger before customers feel them.
What we're looking for
- 10+ years total IT experience with 5+ years as a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect on Azure.
- Genuine depth in core IaaS. You can talk through storage redundancy trade-offs, disk SKU and IOPS decisions, and host caching without reaching for documentation.
- Terraform written by you, not just reviewed by you. Module authoring, state management, and CI/CD integration.
- DR design and execution experience — you have personally run a failover, not only planned one.
- Production AKS operations, including at least one major version upgrade you led.
- Ability to defend architectural decisions. If your estate uses a third-party tool for backup, patching, or log management, you can explain precisely what the Azure-native option could not do.
- Experience operating multi-tenant or multi-subscription estates, ideally with Azure Lighthouse.
- Direct, structured communication. Our interviews reward a clear answer to the question asked over a broad tour of adjacent topics.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Azure Arc at scale across hybrid or multi-cloud estates
- FinOps Certified Practitioner
- Regulated-industry experience (BFSI, healthcare, public sector) with ISO 27001, SOC 2, RBI, or HIPAA controls
