Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Backend & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the core systems that power our platform — from backend APIs and data pipelines to cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows. The role involves designing scalable services, ensuring system reliability, and working closely with frontend and mobile teams to deliver production-grade systems that are robust, well-documented, and built to scale.
Qualifications- Experience in backend development with Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFront)
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (modules, state management, environments)
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimisation, indexing, migrations)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Understanding of system design, scalability, and performance tradeoffs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with frontend and mobile teams
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership of systems
Good to have:
- Exposure to async architectures and data pipelines
- Familiarity with energy, sustainability, or industrial systems
