About the role
- This position will be assigned as a District-Wide position.
- Perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client, report on contractor regulatory and contract safety compliance on multiple projects sites.
- Monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.
- Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as developed and updated by BuildLACCD.
- Monitor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.
- Support to the Program Safety Manager, including but not limited to, attending any required meetings, or providing safety reports/analysis as requested.
- Attend construction meetings with the college project team and general contractor. Leading the safety topic (toolbox), report on site observations (Observation Report) and review upcoming construction schedule for hazard preparedness.
- Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety report for all site visits.
- Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Report to College Project Manager.
- Perform ongoing review, for completion and accuracy, of contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry and hazard assessment of other high risk operations.
- Perform review of contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager.
- Perform and document safety orientation with contractor safety representatives.
- Monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers found not in compliance with the Program’s safety policy.
- Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
