SALARY SCHEDULE: 50,000-77,000
SUMMARY
The Digital Media and Communications Specialist leads the development and management of digital media,
marketing, and communication activities for the MiMTSS Technical Assistance (TA) Center. This role oversees
strategic communications, website and social media management, digital content creation, and the development
of on-demand learning resources. The Specialist ensures all communications and digital materials align with TA
Center branding, accessibility standards, and strategic priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Oversee the TA Center’s comprehensive strategic communications plan, develop content for professional
learning events, and manage all digital platforms (website, social media, and video).
● Draft and distribute all email communications, including event announcements, topic spotlights, and
research roundups, via Constant Contact and maintain listservs.
● Monitor, analyze, and report on engagement analytics across all digital platforms (website, social media,
YouTube, on-demand learning) to inform and facilitate strategies for increased user engagement.
● Guide, coordinate, and complete all project plans for maintaining and updating external and internal
website content, including uploading training materials and managing SiteImprove reports to ensure
accessibility, readability, and overall site quality.
● Maintain and manage the YouTube video catalog, including establishing archiving/removal decision rules,
coordinating closed captioning services, and uploading new video content.
● Guide and coordinate the social media project plan aligned to strategic priorities, and develop and publish
content across platforms.
● Provide event photography (virtual and in-person), develop and manage media release surveys or
questionnaires, and support communication management for conferences and statewide events.

● Lead strategy and design for all promotional and resource materials, creating graphics, brochures, and
flyers for events, social media, videos, and providing graphic design for externally facing products and
documents.
● Develop and edit video content, including event introductions and microlearning modules.
● Plan and develop digital learning resources (e.g., on-demand and microlearning modules) in collaboration
with content experts, and manage and maintain the on-demand learning library.
● Ensure all digital learning materials meet Section 508 accessibility standards and align with established TA
Center style and branding guidelines.
● Proactively collaborate with state-level partners, including the Michigan Department of Education, Office
of Special Education, other Grant Funded Initiatives (e.g., START Project), and Michigan Association of
Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) / EduPaths.
● Coordinate communications efforts aligned to statewide initiatives and grant-funded priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Instructional Design, or a related
field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Knowledge of or experience working in K–12 educational settings preferred.

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with a team while working independently when needed.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback
constructively.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet timelines.
5. Experience with Canva, Articulate, Google Suite, video editing software, Adobe products, Microsoft Office,
and website design software.
6. Knowledge of or experience with Section 508 accessibility standards and associated tools (e.g.,
SiteImprove, WebAIM, CommonLook).
7. Experience with social media analytics and digital engagement reporting preferred.
8. Ability to represent CCRESA and the MiMTSS TA Center in a professional and positive manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands of the job are as follows:

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is a remote position. It is anticipated that some stress will be associated with this position primarily
due to deadlines, legislative requests, and grant reporting timelines. It is necessary that the individual has the
capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful within a fast-paced work environment.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee is generally expected to work 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per
day, during the 210-day work calendar and be available during the core work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
(lunch hour permitted). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel up to 50 days per year may be required for meetings, professional learning events, and state-level
convenings.
