JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Patient Recruitment, Engagement and Outreach is responsible for the enterprise-level strategic leadership and execution of comprehensive, cross-functional patient recruitment strategies in support of Clinilabs clinical research units and multicenter studies managed by global clinical operations. This includes contributing to the review of feasibility assessments (as pertains to recruitment), study start-up, patient outreach, and the implementation of innovative products and vendors to aid in recruitment and retention. The Senior Director partners closely with executive leadership, clinical operations, marketing, business development, and external stakeholders to ensure patient recruitment strategies are predictive, data-driven, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with corporate growth objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and leads the development and execution of patient recruitment strategies, working closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with overall clinical research objectives and organizational goals.
- Directs strategic and operational activities of patient recruitment, ensuring target population enrollment is achieved on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
- Directly lead senior recruitment leadership (e.g., Associate Directors, Managers), setting vision, expectations, and performance standards.
- Build a high-performing recruitment organization, including succession planning, leadership development, and talent retention.
- Provides high-level oversight of the recruitment team, including setting goals, establishing performance metrics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare monthly forecasts, utilization, and revenue reports for senior executives.
- Establish and monitor enterprise KPIs, dashboards, and performance benchmarks to ensure enrollment timelines, quality, and cost targets are consistently met.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on recruitment-related matters, ensuring transparent and timely communication of strategies, progress, and results.
- Manage vendors that serve the department, including but not limited to Smart Choice (phone system), patient recruitment vendors, transportation services, etc.
- Builds and maintains relationships with professional contacts (physicians, patient support groups, etc.) in Clinilabs target indication areas that can help to build Clinilabs subject database and improve study enrollment.
- Oversees the patient management system (CTMS) from a subject recruitment standpoint.
- Drive strategic engagement with physicians, clinicians, and external partners to identify unmet needs and barriers to subject enrollment. Lead efforts to develop solutions that improve recruitment efficiency and streamline the entry process for prospective participants.
- Partner with the marketing department to design and implement strategic campaigns, including advertising materials, community outreach programs, and impactful presentations for both internal and external audiences.
- Lead the development of patient-facing materials and tools (e.g., phone scripts, website content) in collaboration with the recruitment manager.
- Stay at the forefront of trends in patient recruitment, retention, and clinical site training by actively reading industry publications, attending high-level conferences, and integrating best practices into organizational processes.
- Ensure that patient recruitment strategies and site management are fully aligned with Clinilabs policies, priorities, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Oversee the consistent and effective application of operational processes across the recruitment and site training functions.
- Serve as a senior representative for Clinilabs in client-facing engagements, including bid defenses, executive steering committees, feasibility discussions, and strategic planning sessions.
- Ensure consistency and compatibility of processes, SOPs, work instructions, and systems across all recruitment services, with focus on improving operational efficiency.

TRAVELING
Between Corporate New Jersey location and New York location, as needed. Attendance at annual management meeting, investigator meetings and bid defense meetings may be required.
Salary Range: $170,000–$180,000 annually. Final compensation is based on skills, experience, location, and overall expertise.
