Job Title: Research Manager & Consortium Coordinator
Reporting to: Chief Research Officer I Director – Research
Job Summary -
The Research Manager & Consortium Coordinator is responsible for the strategic
planning, operational management, and quality oversight of all research
activities at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH). In addition to managing
SCEH’s institutional research portfolio, the role also serves as the central coordinating
function for SCEH-led collaborative research initiatives, including the Bodhya Eye
Consortium (BEC).
The position ensures that SCEH’s internal research programs and external multi institutional
collaborations operate cohesively, adhere to ethical and regulatory
standards, and produce high-quality, impactful ophthalmic research.
· Key Responsibilities
1. SCEH Research Program Management (Primary Responsibility)
• Oversee the entire research portfolio at SCEH, including clinical,
observational, translational, and data-driven studies.
• Coordinate day-to-day research operations across departments and
investigators.
• Develop research plans, timelines, milestones, and performance indicators
aligned with SCEH’s strategic priorities.
• Serve as the primary operational interface between investigators, research
staff, and institutional leadership.
2. Research Development, Grants & Funding
• Lead and support proposal development for SCEH-led research projects.
• Identify and track grant and funding opportunities (government,
philanthropic, industry, and consortium-based).
3. Protocol Development & Ethics Oversight
• Coordinate protocol development for all SCEH research studies.
• Ensure compliance with GCP, ethical standards, and institutional SOPs.
4. Data Management, Monitoring & Quality Assurance
5. Study Monitoring & Investigator Support
6. Bodhya Eye Consortium (BEC) Coordination (Secondary but Strategic Responsibility)
• Identify operational challenges and provide hands-on support to investigators
and research teams.
• Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to ensure timely and compliant study
execution.
• Coordinate SCEH’s leadership role within the Bodhya Eye Consortium and ensure alignment with SCEH research priorities.
• Support consortium-wide proposal development, protocol harmonization, and collaborative study execution.
• Oversee progress monitoring and data quality for BEC studies led or coordinated by SCEH.
• Oversee data collection, monitoring, and quality control for ongoing SCEH studies.
• Support harmonization and governance of datasets used for collaborative research.
• Coordinate internal audits, monitoring activities, and corrective actions when required.
• Manage IEC/IRB submissions, amendments, renewals, and study closures for institutional and collaborative studies.
• Support pre-award and post-award grant management, including reporting and compliance.

and dissemination activities at Oversee research-related website content and updates for SCEH and BEC.

10. Direct Research Involvement
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s / PhD in Life Sciences, Public Health, Clinical Research, or related discipline.
Experience in ophthalmic or healthcare research preferred.
Role Positioning Summary
