We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist who can play a vital role in supporting psychiatric treatment by ensuring safe, effective, and personalized medication management. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of psychotropic medications and a patient-first approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret prescriptions written by psychiatrists.
- Assist in the accurate dispensing of medications, while ensuring the correct dosage and conformity
- Help patients and caregivers with:
- Medication usage
- Precautions and side effects
- The adherence to the psychiatric treatment plan
- Check for drug interactions, specifically when patients are taking multiple drugs.
- Keep accurate documentation and medical records
- Work closely with psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure that integrated care is provided.
- Make sure that inventory management is in place and there is the availability of essential medications for psychiatric disorders
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in psychopharmacology.
- Make sure that you are in compliance with the regulations and ethical standards
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Master's or Bachelor's degrees in pharmacy (B.Pharm or M.Pharm)
- Valid pharmacy licence or registration
- At least 1-3 years of work experience (experience in a mental health setting is desirable)
- An understanding of psychiatric medications (antidepressants and antipsychotics as well as mood stabilizers, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and patient counseling abilities
- Careful attention to details and moral responsibilities
- Ability to manage difficult patient situations with compassion
