Job Description

Clinical ink is seeking an experienced Portfolio Architect to lead the architectural strategy and execution across a portfolio of cutting-edge applications. In this role, you will proactively develop and communicate architectural views and frameworks to support both internal and external stakeholders. You will be a key member of a cross-functional team spanning product management, design, development, and QA, and ensure technical alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and long-term strategic goals. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring Clinical ink's applications remain scalable, available, and performant. The Portfolio Architect's responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage and communicate a set of architectural views and viewpoints for a portfolio of systems for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide architecture leadership in a joint product, architecture, innovation & design team collaborating with engineering and QA team leads.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and other executives to ensure that Product Innovation efforts are aligned with business goals, customer needs, and long-term vision.
  • Stays up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., DHT, wearables, AI), and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for new products and features.
  • Aids in analysis and development of Strategic Product Roadmap and internal processes to link with workstream roadmaps and priorities.
  • Advise on the prioritization of innovation pipeline elements, identified opportunities.
  • Develops the architecture for design and product release deliverables consistent with SDLC standards, SOPs, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Define, prioritize, and design key non-functional requirements and features within the platform to ensure high scalability, availability, performance and robustness of the platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a technology-related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field of study; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with architecture methodologies and modeling notations (e.g. TOGAF, UML, BPMN) for business architecture, data, application and technology layers.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in building enterprise-class software products using HTML, Microsoft .Net, RESTful services, MSSQL, Java, or equivalent.
  • Clinical research/pharma/life sciences industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with architecting scalable applications, mobile, web and server architectures, including caching, concurrency and transactions, configuration management, connectivity, logging and instrumentation, performance, security, synchronization, web API and web service integrations.
  • Good knowledge of key areas such as data, security, engineering and product management and well versed in next generation platforms/SaaS-based in environments.
  • Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross-functional team to drive results, define requirements, coordinate resources from other groups, and guide the team through key milestones.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels internally and externally.
  • Exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills required.
