Job details:
Clinical Informatics Lead (Physician): EMR Strategy & Clinical Systems
Apollo Home Healthcare | Hyderabad | Full-time or part-time / fractional
About the role
Apollo Home Healthcare is building a modern, technology-led home care platform. We need a physician who understands both clinical practice and health technology to shape our EMR: defining what clinical data we capture, how care is documented and escalated, and which EMR platform and architecture will serve us today and as we scale. You will be the clinical authority in our technology decisions, working directly with senior leadership, product, and engineering.
Engagement options
We are open to either, depending on the right person:
• Full-time: a permanent leadership role owning clinical informatics across the product suite.
• Part-time / fractional: a retainer of about 10-15 hours a week for an initial 3-6 months, with the option to extend or convert.
Remote, hybrid, or Hyderabad-based arrangements can be discussed.
What you will do
• Define the clinical data model for home care: visits, vitals and device data, medication reconciliation, assessments, care plans, handovers, and consent.
• Evaluate and select the EMR: lead build-vs-buy analysis, assessing FHIR-native and open-source platforms against commercial options for fit, extensibility, and long-term scalability.
• Write clinical requirements and safety rules: alert thresholds, red-flag escalation pathways, documentation standards, and order/protocol templates.
• Be the clinical voice in product and engineering: review designs and workflows and prioritise what is clinically essential versus noise.
• Validate with the field: run user testing with nurses, doctors, and caregivers, and turn feedback into product changes.
• Own clinical governance: safety sign-off, audit trails, data privacy (DPDP), ABDM alignment, and relevant NMC and telemedicine compliance.
• Build clinical content and train teams on documentation standards and system use.
What we are looking for
Must have
• MBBS (or higher) with an active medical registration in India.
• Clinical experience in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, palliative care, critical care, or a related field. Home care exposure is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or building an EMR/EHR as a clinical owner, not only as an end user.
• Working knowledge of health data standards: FHIR/HL7, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC.
• Ability to work with engineers and product managers and translate clinical needs into clear requirements.
• Strong judgement and communication with both clinicians and senior leadership.
Good to have
• Formal training in clinical or health informatics (e.g. AMIA, MSc, or fellowship).
• Familiarity with ABDM (ABHA, HIP/HIU, consent manager).
• Experience with remote patient monitoring, device integration, or telehealth.
• Experience at a health-tech startup or a hospital digital team.
• Exposure to open-source EMRs (Medplum, OpenMRS, Bahmni) or commercial platforms.
How you will be measured
• First 30 days: clinical requirements and home care data model drafted and reviewed.
• First 60 days: shortlist of EMR options evaluated against clear criteria, with a recommendation.
• First 90 days: platform decision made, clinical workflows validated with frontline staff, and safety/governance framework in place.
What we offer
• A senior, high-impact role shaping clinical technology from the ground up.
• Direct access to leadership and real influence on product direction.
