Role Description This full-time, on-site Clinical Audiologist role is based in Chennai and involves providing comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services. The Clinical Audiologist will conduct hearing assessments, interpret test results, and recommend appropriate hearing aids and assistive devices. Daily responsibilities include performing hearing aid fittings, programming and verification, counseling clients and families on communication strategies, and providing aural rehabilitation and basic speech-related support where appropriate. The role also includes maintaining detailed clinical records, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, participating in follow-up care, and contributing to community outreach or education initiatives related to hearing health.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Audiology skills, including hearing assessment, diagnosis, and management of hearing disorders.
- Candidates should possess skills in Hearing Aid Dispensing, including fitting, programming, verification, and ongoing device maintenance and counseling.
- Candidates should possess skills in Speech and Speech Therapy support, particularly in counseling and basic communication strategies for individuals with hearing loss.
- Candidates should possess skills in Aural Rehabilitation, including auditory training, communication strategy training, and patient and family education.
- Relevant academic qualification such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Audiology, Speech and Hearing, or a related field; valid professional registration or license as required by local regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build trust with clients of diverse backgrounds, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work independently within a clinical setting, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to ethical and confidentiality standards.
- Previous clinical experience in audiology or hearing aid centres is preferred; familiarity with modern audiological equipment and fitting software is an advantage.
