8th Grade Volleyball Coach – Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High School
Job Summary:
Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High School is seeking a motivated and positive 8th Grade Volleyball Coach to support the development of our middle school volleyball program. The ideal candidate will focus on teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship while helping student-athletes build a strong foundation for future success in the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, fundamentals, and teamwork
- Coach and supervise all 8th grade volleyball games and competitions
- Teach proper techniques, basic strategies, and rules of volleyball
- Promote sportsmanship, effort, and a positive team environment
- Support the academic success and personal development of student-athletes
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate with varsity and junior varsity coaches to ensure program alignment
- Maintain equipment and assist with organization of the program
- Comply with all school and league regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic volleyball skills, rules, and techniques
- Ability to teach and motivate middle school student-athletes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Positive role model with high ethical standards
- Ability to organize and manage groups effectively
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
