MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree or two-year college certification
- 1-3 years previous work experience.
- Class A CDL
- Must be a current Clay County Solid Waste employee
- Ability to successfully complete a background investigation

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The listed examples may not include all the duties performed by all positions in this class.
- Operates equipment, including dozer, 826 Cat Compactors, Payloader. Spreads, compacts, and covers waste and keeps waste at proper grade. Moves daily cover material and performs post-closure activities
- Inspects customer waste - separating recyclables and storing hazardous and problem materials.
- Provides directions and procedures to residents, businesses, and haulers
- Prepares, inspects and maintains equipment for use. This includes checking fuel, oil, and grease.
- Performs minor equipment repairs.
- Assists Site Manager in maintaining facility and site in nuisance free, aesthetic manner (i.e. weed and brush control, litter pick-up, facility up-keep and repair), according to state rules and regulations.
- Performs erosion and vegetation control, and other work on roads and storm water areas/trenches, as needed.
- Oversees and inspects monitoring wells and equipment, leachate collection system and tank, methane gas vents, flares, and phytoremediation system.
- Assesses waste loads to determine fess and tax.
- Other duties as assigned by Landfill Manager.
