Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Civil Lead with over
10 years of experience in ground-mounted solar PV projects to oversee civil engineering activities for utility-scale solar power plants. The candidate will be responsible for managing
site development, structural works, foundations, drainage, roads, and overall civil execution while ensuring project quality, safety, and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil Engineering & Design
- Review and coordinate civil engineering designs for ground-mounted solar PV plants.
- Review site grading plans, drainage systems, road layouts, and foundation designs for module mounting structures (MMS).
- Validate geotechnical reports and recommend appropriate foundation types (pile, micro pile, RCC footing, etc.).
- Ensure civil designs comply with project specifications, standards, and local regulations.
- Project Execution
- Lead civil construction activities including:
- Site grading and land development
- Internal roads and access roads
- Drainage systems
- Foundations for module mounting structures
- Inverter room / control room civil works
- Cable trenches and duct banks
- Boundary wall / fencing works
- Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams for integrated project execution.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work progress as per project schedule.
- Quality Control
- Implement quality control procedures for civil works.
- Ensure compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and construction standards.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure proper material usage and workmanship.
- Review and approve contractor measurements and bills.
- Planning & Project Management
- Prepare and track construction schedules for civil works.
- Monitor project progress and report to project management.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and engineering teams.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
- Conduct safety meetings and risk assessments.
- Ensure all civil works comply with regulatory approvals and environmental guidelines.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise civil engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve site-level engineering challenges.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for civil materials and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5+ years in utility-scale solar ground-mounted projects.
- Experience in large solar power plant construction (10MW+ projects).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Site grading and land development
- Solar structure foundations
- Drainage design
- Concrete and steel structures
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and construction planning tools.
- Strong understanding of IS codes and construction standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in handling multiple solar project sites simultaneously.
- Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and foundation design for solar structures.
- Experience working with EPC contractors and solar developers.
- Strong vendor and subcontractor management skills.
