We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented civil engineering intern to support our team on various redevelopment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in core civil engineering principles, a keen interest in the practical aspects of construction, and the digital skills necessary to thrive in a modern engineering environment. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in estimation, planning, and project coordination.
Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilities Include
- Estimation & costing: Assist in the preparation of preliminary cost estimates, quantity take-offs (BOQ), and material schedules for redevelopment projects.
- Project planning: Support the project team in developing project schedules, monitoring progress, and updating project plans using relevant software tools.
- Technical communication: Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and daily progress updates. Liaise with team members and other stakeholders under the guidance of senior engineers.
- FSH calculations: Apply knowledge to calculate FSH (Floor Space Index/Housing) as per local regulations, a critical component for redevelopment project feasibility and planning.
- Utilize essential civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or similar) for drafting and planning.
- Leverage MS Excel for data analysis, creating trackers, and performing complex calculations.
