Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Civil Engineer contributing subject-matter expertise to Netfreak’s content. The Civil Engineer will research and develop clear, accurate, and engaging content related to civil engineering topics, such as infrastructure planning, stormwater management, and construction practices, tailored for a general audience. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with editors to define content themes, preparing technical explanations and case studies, reviewing articles for technical accuracy, and translating complex engineering concepts into accessible blog posts, infographics, or video scripts. The role also involves staying current with industry trends, codes, and standards, and suggesting new topics that align with Netfreak’s focus areas, especially where engineering intersects with lifestyle, finance, and public safety.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering skills, with the ability to apply them to real-world infrastructure and construction contexts.
- Experience as a Civil Engineer, including practical exposure to projects, site work, or consulting environments.
- Planning and Stormwater Management skills, including familiarity with regulations, best practices, and sustainable design approaches.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Comfort working remotely, managing deadlines independently, and collaborating virtually with editorial and media teams.
- Familiarity with basic content creation tools (word processing, online collaboration platforms); experience with blogging or technical writing is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, and commitment to accuracy, safety, and professional ethics.
