Role Description The Civil Contractor role at JS Associates is a full-time, on-site position based in Thiruvananthapuram, India. The Civil Contractor will oversee day-to-day construction activities, coordinate with site supervisors and workers, and ensure that work progresses according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Responsibilities include managing resources, supervising subcontractors, monitoring material usage, and maintaining site documentation such as work logs, progress reports, and compliance records. The role involves liaising with clients, consultants, and government authorities, resolving site issues, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones. The Civil Contractor will also support quality control, adhere to budget and schedule requirements, and enforce health and safety practices on site.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong civil construction and site management skills, including supervision of structural, masonry, and finishing works.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of construction safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance relevant to civil engineering projects.
- Candidates should possess basic understanding of cost control, estimation, and material management for infrastructure and building projects.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience in civil contracting will be considered.
- Proven experience as a Civil Contractor or Site Engineer on infrastructure or large-scale construction projects is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Thiruvananthapuram, India, with flexibility to manage extended hours or changing site conditions when required.
