Role Description The Civil Billing Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing bills of quantities and contractor invoices for civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms. Day-to-day tasks include quantity take-offs, verification of on-site measurements, reconciliation of billed quantities, and coordination with project managers, site engineers, and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies. The role involves supporting cost management, tracking project progress against budgets, maintaining detailed documentation, and preparing periodic reports for internal and client stakeholders. The Civil Billing Engineer will also assist in claim management, support audits of project costs, and contribute to continuous improvement of billing processes and standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
- Experience working as part of Civil Engineering teams (Civil Engineers) on infrastructure or building projects, preferably within consulting or contracting environments.
- Planning skills for sequencing work, tracking progress, and aligning billing with project schedules and milestones.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management or related infrastructure systems is beneficial, especially for projects involving utilities and urban development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off tools, MS Excel, and common billing and ERP/project management software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and billing records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with on-site teams, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Understanding of local codes, standards, and contractual practices in infrastructure and construction projects is an advantage.
