Position Summary
The Event
Houseman is responsible for the physical execution of event setups and resets
throughout Pier 57, ensuring all spaces reflect City Winery’s elevated
aesthetic and hospitality standards. This role supports the Events, FOH, BOH,
and Facilities teams by preparing rooms, moving equipment, maintaining
cleanliness, and responding quickly to operational needs during live events.
This
position is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, reliable, and thrives in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused
environment.
Overview of Responsibilities
Event
Setup & Breakdown
● Execute event layouts
including tables, chairs, staging, décor, linens, signage, and AV equipment.
● Follow detailed floor plans
and instructions from the Events and Operations teams.
● Reset rooms efficiently
between events, ensuring readiness for the next function.
● Assist with load ins and load
outs for clients, vendors, and production teams.
Operational
Support
● Maintain cleanliness and
organization of event spaces, storage rooms, and equipment areas.
● Support FOH teams during
events with replenishment, furniture adjustments, and guest flow needs.
● Respond to real time requests
from Event Managers, including room flips, equipment moves, and
troubleshooting.
● Ensure all equipment is
handled safely and stored properly after use.
Safety
& Facility Standards
● Follow all safety protocols
related to lifting, equipment handling, and venue operations.
● Report maintenance issues,
hazards, or equipment needs to the Operations Manager.
● Support compliance with City
Winery’s cleanliness, sanitation, and brand standards.
Minimum Qualifications
●
1–2 years of experience in events, hospitality, facilities,
or related operational roles preferred.
●
Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs and perform
physical tasks for extended periods.
●
Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays based on
event schedules.
●
Strong communication skills and ability to take direction
from multiple departments.
●
Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
●
Experience in high‑volume or multi‑space venues is a plus.
