About the role

Position Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated statistical geneticist to join our dynamic Data Science team at City Therapeutics. This career opportunity offers a high impact role in leading and supporting our next-generation RNAi target discovery efforts. An ideal candidate will bring strong statistical genetics expertise together with scientific creativity and curiosity to advance our target identification and validation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform biobank-scale common and rare variant genetic association analyses using scalable cloud-native tools (e.g. Hail, REGENIE).
  • Develop and implement pipelines for cross-biobank phenotypic curation and harmonization and conduct cross-biobank meta-analyses to identify and validate therapeutic targets.
  • Carry out post-GWAS analyses and interpretation (e.g. fine mapping, colocalization, Mendelian randomization, locus-to-gene scoring).
  • Develop strategies to identify genetically validated targets by leveraging multi-biobank individual-level data, publicly available summary statistics, and multi-omics integration.
  • Collaborate with disease area biologists in target validation efforts to support existing programs and champion new genetically validated targets across multiple therapeutic areas.

 Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in statistical genetics, human genetics, or related field with 3-5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Deep expertise in statistical genetics with hands-on experience implementing state-of-the-art methods and analysis tools.
  • Experience conducting analyses on cloud research platforms (e.g. DNANexus, All of Us Researcher Workbench) and cloud-computing infrastructures (e.g. AWS).
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and Linux command-line environments.
  • Experience with programmatic access to external data sources via APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through high-impact publications and the ability to present complex scientific findings to diverse audiences.

Please note this role is required to be on-site at our offices in Cambridge, MA (5 days a week).

Your actual base salary will be based on several factors, including relevant skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training and market dynamics. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual cash bonus and equity compensation.
