The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a candidate for the Mobile Crisis Response Clinician III position for the Adult Mobile Crisis Response Program. Adult Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) provides a rapid response, assessment, and early intervention to residents and visitors in the City of Virginia Beach, City of Norfolk, and the Eastern Shore of Virginia when they experience a behavioral health crisis. Services will assist individuals experiencing a crisis or escalating emotional/behavioral symptoms which have impacted their ability to function in their family, living situation, community, school, or work environment.
The ideal candidate will be Licensed as a LPC, LCSW, LCP or LPC Resident in Counseling, have experience working with adults in crisis, working with adults with mental health and substance use disorders, conducting complex assessments and evaluations; and experience with community-based work.
Responsibilities:
Respond to calls through the Region Crisis Hub System by providing Community Crisis services to include Mobile Crisis Intervention, Mobile Crisis Stabilization, and other Community -Based Crisis Stabilization services to adult non-hospitalized individuals experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis to avert hospitalization or re-hospitalization, by mobilizing resources of the community and natural support systems for ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation.
Complete clinical documentation and assures that all filing of clinical information and submission of billing information are done accurately and within the time frame required. May serve specialized populations and/or serve in specialized roles.
Complete complex assessments, treatment planning, crisis planning, clinical intervention, consultation, supportive counseling, and transition planning.
Aid in community education and work to increase referral sources as needed.
Must be available to work evenings and holidays to meet operational needs.
Work Schedule - Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Afternoon/evening schedules associated with this position are eligible for shift differential pay according to City policy 2.08.
A $4,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original full-time employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
$1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
$1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
$1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
