The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a NGRI (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity) Liaison who has experience in Behavioral Health Correctional Services and working with adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders for the SA Adult Correctional Services program.
Duties:
Provide advocacy, monitoring and discharge planning for clients with a serious mental illness at the State Hospital and in the Community.
Provide discharge planning and linkage to community resources for NGRI Acquittee that are released into the community from State Hospital.
Complete intakes, assessments, individual service plans, updates, discharges and compiles other information in support of program and licensure requirements.
Complete a comprehensive assessment of case management needs of NGRI Acquittee.
Develop an ISP and CRP based on the assessment information and in collaboration with the consumer, other treatment providers, criminal justice staff, and, if appropriate, family, spouse or significant others.
Conduct a face-to-face assessment to determine consumer’s functional limitations, eligibility for services, progress and need areas as indicated on CRP.
Coordinate services and service planning with other providers within the DHS, outside agencies or providers and the criminal justice system.
Provide testimony in court hearings regarding NGRI consumer’s progress and compliance with their CRP.
Monitor medication compliance.
Participate in case consultations.
Attend regional and/or community workshops or conferences related to Behavioral Health and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.
A $4,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or re-employment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
$1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
$1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
$1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
