About the Department
Management Analyst work activities are divided into three classes.
Management Analyst III is the third and highest or senior level class to which Management Analysts are allocated.
Position Duties
Management Analyst III work Summary: Performs complex technical work involving budget and management investigations, surveys, research, and related work in reviewing methods, procedures, policies, organizations of various city programs departments; designs and conducts complex organizations surveys and program evaluation for the purpose of recommending improvements in performance, coordination, efficiency, and control of city activities; designs, develops and implements revised management and budget procedures; recommends action effecting broad policy and procedural changes.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related fields and/or five (5) years of related work experience are required.
2. A knowledge of the methodology of conducting surveys and investigations.
3. A basic knowledge of budgeting and statistics.
4. The ability to plan and organize management studies and to follow through on their completion.
5. The ability to organize and present effective oral and written reports.
6. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, department heads, officials, and the general public.
Other Qualifications
Physical Requirements: Tasks typically require reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Work Environment: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Normal Promotion Path From This Class:
Director, Management services or any higher class for which eligible and qualified.
