About the role
About the Department
Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Code Enforcement Officer provides zoning review and code enforcement functions and ensures that all zoning and code related activities within the City meet applicable codes and ordinances.
Position Duties
- Inspects properties to ensure compliance with codes; provides information to citizens and investigate complaints regarding code infractions and take action as appropriate.
- Checks for permits on construction projects.
- Follows inspections on code violations; schedules abatements of code violations; issues administrative fines for violations.
- Interacts with city agencies, outside agencies, and the public.
- Services Trail Cams; performs and schedules vehicle maintenance.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma GED certificate and/or at least one (1) year in a related field.
- Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license.
