About the Department
The purpose of this position is to provide support for cultural arts and other special events. Job duties consist of related specialized duties. Successful performance in this position contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of leisure services to area residents. FLSA status is Non-Exempt
Position Duties
The following duties are normal for this classification. PROGRAM & EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES (35%)
Assists in the planning and development of events.
Develops and manages programs, classes, and workshops.
Recruits vendors and entertainment for special events.
Set up and breakdown at events.
Photographs events and edits photos.
Works with groups within the Creative and Performing Arts Council to plan and publicize cultural arts events.
MARKETING DUTIES (35%)
Assists with creating custom graphics to promote events.
Promotes events, programs, classes, and workshops across various platforms and media
Creates custom signage for each event (yard signs, billboards, a-frames, banners)..
Promotes events using social media, community calendars, local publications, paid radio and television ads, and live and recorded television interviews.
Writes promotional materials and press releases.
Design and write copy for each seasonal brochure and program for events throughout the year
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (20%)
Answers email and telephone, and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
Assists with recording information for annual grant applications and final reports.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES (10%)
Assists other departments.
Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors' Degree in Marketing or an Art related field preferred.
Two (2) years' experience in public relations, event planning or programming.
Two (2) years' of supervisory or volunteer management experience.
Familiarity with creative concepts and an appreciation of the arts is preferred.
Local working knowledge of area art guilds, art classes, and grant writing is preferred.
Willing to work nights and weekends.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Must provide proof of your legal right to work in the United States.
High School Diploma/GED.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Willing to work overtime.
Willing to cooperate with the workload of the department.
Willing to comply with City of Prattville rules and regulations.
Must submit to drug screenings for this safety sensitive position.
