About the role

 

The City of Pewaukee has an opening in our Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works for a full-time Senior Engineering Technician.  The hourly wage range is $30.84-$33.48 with a very generous benefits package.  

 Examples of the duties of this position include –  

  • Confer with supervisor, Public Works staff to determine project details relative to erosion control, grading plans, water main, sanitary sewer, stormwater, streets, and all other public works projects and programs.
  • Provide, coordinate and assist with necessary surveying services for design and construction of assigned projects. 
  • Produce schematics using AutoCAD to illustrate survey data collected in the field or received from external organizations. 
  • Write/review legal descriptions of parcels and special assessment districts.
  • Obtain recorded legal documents from Waukesha County Land Records pertaining to easement location and property ownership.
  • Assist with special assessments, including special assessment rolls, charges, and records; respond to inquiries and complaints from property owners, title companies, attorneys, realtors, and others to clarify and explain assessment process and information.
  • Serve as the primary contact for residents and contractors requesting driveway construction permits.

 Qualified applicants will have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering or closely related field;  6+ years of progressively responsible municipal engineering experience preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education; municipal construction inspection experience is preferred; a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and personal motor vehicle insurance.
