About the Department
We are looking for a few motivated candidates, who have some landscape maintenance experience, to join our City of Oakdale team and help us provide valuable landscape services in our community. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fantastic Parks Division and Public Services Department, doing rewarding work in an awesome community.
Position Duties
-Assists and is trained in the maintenance of lawns, shrubbery, and trees including planting, watering, trimming, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and weed and pest control.
-Operates trucks, mowers, and other light equipment.
-Assists in the preparation of areas for planting by clearing, grading, fertilizing, and watering.
-Prepares areas for rock-beds and lays rock.
-Assists and is trained in the installation, operation and maintenance, and repairs of in-ground sprinkler systems.
-Assists and is trained in safety inspections of park amenities including playgrounds and sports facilities.
-Performs preventative maintenance.
-Assists other Parks, Facility, and Recreation staff as necessary.
-Interacts with the public; maintains and enforces City rules.
Minimum Qualifications
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Valid California driver’s license.
Other Qualifications
This position will be receiving a pay increase on July 01, 2026. New pay range will be $23.07 (starting) to $27.60 (highest step) per hour.
