Must be a current State of Florida Certified Police Officer

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk,  sit, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job  include  close vision, color  vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

SELECTION GUIDELINNES
Qualified applicants will be subject to extensive screening, which includes: Polygraph, medical exam, psychological testing, and background investigation.  ADA GUIDELINES Applicant with disabilities who desire special accommodation MUST notify the Human Resources Department at the time of application.

• United States Citizen over 19 years of age (proof required)
• High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalency
• Pass Basic Motor Skills Test (BMST) for physical agility
• Pass Polygraph examination
• Pass psychological screening (Law)
•  Pass an extensive medical evaluation and drug screening
•  Meet current State training requirements as necessary
•  Pass an extensive background investigation
•  Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Must possess ability to exercise discretion
•  Be of good moral character, have no felony convictions, and committed  no  incidents  of  violence
• Military discharge must be honorable     

Other Qualifications

Applicants must attach the following documents to be considered.

• Basic Law Enforcement Academy or Academy acceptance letter
• Physical Agility (completed within the last six months)
