Nature of Work:
This position provides customer service to participants and guests at the Parks and Recreation Department. Communicates with: Internally – Parks and recreation staff. Externally –General public. Supervision: None |
Position Duties
Essential Work Functions:
- Provides excellent customer service to participants and guests of the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Assist customers with daily admission, memberships registration in programs and facility rentals, which includes answering questions, reserving rooms/shelters, and providing receipts.
- Provide counter coverage and assist customers with various requests.
- Provide tours to customers through the facility.
- Answer and direct all calls in a professional, friendly manner and take complete and accurate messages.
- Operate Parks and Recreation software and necessary office equipment.
- Scan and properly file documents electronically to ensure efficient and effective future retrieval.
- Make copies and assist Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Recreation Coordinator, and Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator when asked.
- Monitor and enforce all applicable Parks and Recreation policies for participants and guests.
- Assist in gym set up (setting up volleyball nets, raising/lowering curtain and basketball hoops and moving portable volleyball hoops).

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to perform cashier duties accurately.
- Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Willing to become first aid and CPR certified within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to learn recreation software.
- Ability to work a schedule of up to 20 hours per week.
