The City is accepting applications for Annual part-time Stormwater/Sanitation Workers.
This is a great opportunity for those with construction experience or those looking to break into municipal operations. This is an annual part-time position working 20-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; occasional evening or weekend work may be required. You’ll be ensuring our city stays clean, safe, and compliant with environmental regulations.
Position Duties
- Drive and operate light to heavy machinery, including pickup trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, skid loaders, chippers, and street sweepers.
- Manage daily collection routes and ensure yard waste is transported and dumped safely and legally.
- Help protect our local environment by inspecting drainage ditches, cleaning storm pipes, and monitoring industrial stormwater discharges.
- Set up work zones with safety cones and signs, directing traffic to keep your crew and our citizens safe.
- Assist with street repairs by raking asphalt, spreading aggregate, and operating pneumatic equipment like jackhammers.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Some college is a plus!).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid Ohio Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
- Excellent English speaking skills to interact with citizens and team members.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, G Suite). Experience in construction or heavy equipment is a huge plus!
- Must be able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions and have sufficient vision/hearing to operate equipment safely.

Rate of pay is $16.00 - $18.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
