About the Department
Join the Office of the City Attorney and play a key role in supporting civil legal work that serves the community. This is a highly responsible, specialized position providing direct assistance to attorneys on a variety of civil matters, including litigation, claims, and workers’ compensation.
What You’ll Do- Support civil attorneys with research, case preparation, and legal documentation
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, and related documents
- Assist with discovery, court filings, and case management activities
- Help coordinate workers’ compensation and claims-related work
- Gather, analyze, and organize information for legal cases and proceedings
- Apply knowledge of court rules, statutes, ordinances, and legal procedures
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and ethical standards

- Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in paralegal studies or related field plus two years of experience as a paralegal, legal secretary or similar position in a litigation practice or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
