Under general supervision, the Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service tasks for Splash! Food Service operations in designated areas of the water park, including food preparation work, meal service, food inspection, and maintenance.
Position Duties
(These examples do not include all the duties which may be assigned).
- Performs assigned duties relating to the daily operation of Splash! Food Service including, but not limited to, preparing and cooking food, taking food and drink orders, serving customers, inventory control, merchandise and supply restocking, and facility upkeep.
- Proper food handling preparation and storage techniques in compliance with Health Department standards.
- May operate a cash register and receive payment from customer in cash or by credit card.
- Performs basic kitchen maintenance tasks such as mopping, cleaning surfaces, emptying trash, inspecting kitchen equipment for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensures that the Splash! Food Service facility is well maintained and clean.
- Performs set-up and tear-down of Splash! Food Service equipment and materials.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Knowledge of: Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations, techniques, and safety procedures of food service operations; proper safety and sanitation practices and methods used in food preparation and storage; occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to: Read, understand, and carry out written and oral directions. Adapt to unforeseen changes, such as staffing needs and menu adaptions. Work well in a fast-paced environment to meet customer demands. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and staff. Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact with the public and staff. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Must be at least 16 years of age and Junior standing in high school. Experience working in a food service or commercial kitchen environment is highly desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Completion of Food Handler’s Certification within one month of employment. Certification will be provided by the City.
Possession of valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certificates are required within the first month of employment. Certifications will be provided by the City..
Other Qualifications
Splash! Aquatics Center is open year-round. Positions require availability to work varying shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates with open availability will be given preference when hiring.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
- Interviews will be Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday May 21.
- Buccaneer Bay water park at Splash! Aquatics Center is open from May 16 to September 26, 2026. Base your availability to work during this period.
Candidates will be required to pass a City administered pre-employment requirements which include live scan fingerprinting and a medical examination as part of the Selection Process. Candidates who do not pass any portion of the above processes will be disqualified and removed from proceeding in the selection process.
