The City of Kingman is hiring Seasonal Part-Time Lifeguards to help keep our community pools safe, clean, and welcoming all summer long. This role focuses on swimmer safety, accident prevention, and supporting daily aquatic operations. Lifeguards work as part of a team in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with shifts throughout the season.

A positive attitude and interest in supporting a safe and fun pool environment will set you up for success.Position Duties
At least 15 years of age
Some experience working with the public
Valid Lifeguard certification (Ellis, Red Cross, Starguard)
Ability to complete or convert to Red Cross Lifeguard certification
Ability to pass a Lifeguard pre-test (physical abilities)
CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications
Ability to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Lifeguarding & Swimmer Safety (50%): Monitor assigned water areas, observe swimmers, enforce pool rules, and take preventative action to reduce accidents. Perform professional rescue procedures when needed and remain physically and mentally prepared to respond to emergencies.
Customer Service & Public Interaction (30%): Answer questions about pool rules and aquatic programs, interact positively with patrons, and help create a welcoming environment. Support positive public relations by building cooperative relationships with pool users.
Pool Operations & Maintenance (20%): Help maintain clean and safe pool facilities by skimming pools, hosing decks, arranging deck furniture, and monitoring water conditions. Report sanitation or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
Training & Daily Support (10%): Attend required meetings and trainings, complete timesheets, and accident or incident reports. Assist with basic facility supervision, promotional materials, and other daily aquatic operations as needed.
