The Veterans Cemetery Service Worker performs jobs requiring mainly manual skills and physical strength to conduct various tasks in the maintenance and operations.
The employee will have the responsibility of:
· Being able to drive and take care of all-terrain vehicles used on the cemetery grounds
· Mows, weed-eats and cleans all areas of the cemetery grounds
· Sweeps, washes, paints, and repairs all structures on cemetery grounds
· Realigning and sets headstones, markers, and niche covers in cemetery
· Collecting and disposing of solid waste from buildings and grounds and picks up litter from premises
· Cleaning office buildings and all restrooms on site
· Assisting in special events held on cemetery grounds year round
The work environment will require the employee to:
· Regularly work near moving mechanical parts in outdoor conditions
· Exposed to heat, cold, various weather conditions, dirt, and mud
· Work in areas where pesticides, insecticides, and fertilizer are applied
· Frequently move/lift 50 pounds to over 100 pounds
· Exposed to noise levels exceeding 85 dBA for up to eight (8) hours per day

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
· Graduation from high school or equivalent, and,
· Six (6) months of experience is preferred; or,
· A Veteran of any branch of military service; preferred, but not required
Special Requirements:
· Must have a valid driver’s license within sixty (60) days of hire
· Must have a valid driver’s license by date-of-hire
