About the Department

The primary duties of this position relate to communications and marketing for library programs, services and activities, ensuring that library news and digital marketing materials have a consistent, professional quality and adhere to City standards. Responsibilities include designing, producing, and updating print promotional materials such as posters and flyers; creating content for library and city publications; assisting with social media content creation, the library’s website, and event photography. This position will also assist customers with checking out and registering for library cards; answering account inquiries; advising and assisting with library resources; and providing computer technical assistance and troubleshooting issues with public computers, printers, and other library equipment. Duties typically require lifting up to 60 pounds frequently. An Associate degree or equivalent and two years of relevant experience required. Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills beneficial. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite Software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred. Hours vary and will include evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.
