 About our Department:

Landscape Management’s goal is to improve standards of grounds care on all public space within the City of Huntsville. Landscape Management maintains the grounds in city parks, sports facilities, and rights-of-way, while promoting the highest quality of trained technicians and professionals in the fields of Turf Management, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Irrigation, Litter Management and Herbicide Application.

Landscape Management Department works (4) - 10 hour shifts:

Monday - Thursday 6a - 4p

or

Tuesday - Friday 6a - 4p

Green Team Assistant Position Overview: 

The basic nature of this position is to assist Operation Green Team in all aspects; and to function in the same capacity as the Operation Green Team Coordinator when necessary. This is administrative and community relations work in planning, organizing, and directing the City programs furthering litter prevention education, community involvement in beautification, and proper waste handling in Huntsville.  Work involves supervision, conducting anti-litter campaigns, and related work programs of community improvement through organizing community resources, public speaking, development of special events and other activities. 

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency.

A valid driver's license.

Must be available to work weekends.
