About the RoleThe Water Quality Analyst is responsible for managing water quality data, conducting scientific and statistical analysis, supporting environmental compliance, and leading technical projects related to stormwater and stream health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and analyze water quality monitoring data and prepare detailed reports
- Perform scientific analysis and interpretation of environmental sampling results
- Serve as project manager for special studies, research initiatives, and environmental projects
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities and assist with environmental program development
- Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), manage contracts, and oversee consultant work
- Conduct inspections of industrial facilities to ensure environmental compliance
- Coordinate biological sampling programs to assess aquatic community health in City streams
- Perform water quality modeling and pollutant loading analysis using advanced technical software
- Provide technical assistance to City staff, researchers, regulatory agencies, and the public
- Interpret and apply local, state, and federal environmental regulations and policies
- Conduct fieldwork in stream environments and varying weather conditions
