Work Schedule: Wednesday through Tuesday: 40-hour work week, with varied times due to events at the Greensboro Sportsplex.

About the Role:
As a Custodian II at the Greensboro Sportsplex, you will play a critical role in maintaining our 106,000 sq ft facility, ensuring it is clean, organized, and ready for use by the public. You will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the building’s restrooms, locker rooms, gym, and other areas. Thoroughly clean and disinfect all restrooms, locker rooms, and showers each day. Showers will need additional cleaning periodically. Paper towels and soap dispensers checked daily and filled as needed as well as toilet paper. The kitchen must be cleaned on a daily basis. Sweep, vacuum, scrub, or pick up debris one or more times each day, in all offices, rooms, gym, lobby, kitchen, storage rooms, and sidewalks, including the parking lot area. Spot clean walls, and baseboards daily. Collect and empty all trash at least daily. Grounds should be free of rubbish, trash, paper, glass, cigarette butts, and other waste materials daily. Clean countertops, tables, chairs, lounge and lobby tables and chairs weekly. Clean on and under the bleachers. Clean windows in the building. Doors, lobby glass, front office glass, and areas should be washed as needed. Floors should be waxed and buffed regularly on a schedule agreed upon with Sportsplex Manager. This includes but not limited to hardwood floors, volleyball room floors and lobby and indoor walk areas. All mats should be thoroughly cleaned. Clean and dust routinely daily or weekly, all glass and mirrors in the facility. Equipment should be set up in a timely manner. Maintain all equipment. All minor adjustments and repairs on equipment should be made by the custodian. Clean and organize the custodial closet; chemicals must be labeled and equipment neatly stored. Participate in training and staff meetings as assigned. Must have the ability to coordinate and implement a work plan that meets the needs of the Sportsplex. Additionally, you will assist with setting up for programs and events and ensuring the custodial supplies are well-stocked. This position also involves general groundskeeping to keep the facility looking its best both inside and out.
This job is Non-Exempt and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

- High School Diploma/G.E.D. with 1-3 years of related custodial experience
- "OR" No High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years of related custodial experience
- Experience/knowledge of cleaning equipment, floor preparation, and the use of strippers and waxes
- Experience in cleaning and disinfection facilities
- General groundskeeping experience
- Valid NC Driver’s License
