We’re looking for volunteers to help support our Adaptive Slow Pitch Softball league! Adaptive Sports breaks barriers for participants ages 10 and up with disabilities, offering opportunities to play, make friends, boost self-esteem, and strengthen our community. As a Dream League Volunteer, you’ll assist players with hitting, running, and fielding.

Position Duties
What You’ll Do in This Role:
- Participate in pre-season orientation and training to become familiar with program activities and expectations.
- Plan to be present and prepared to support activities at scheduled program times.
- Assist Recreation staff with organizing and leading recreational activities, including sports, games, and enrichment opportunities.
- Help create a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for participants of all ages.
- Model good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior during all activities.
- Assist Recreation staff with activities that support a safe and engaging environment.
- Share general program information with participants and families as directed by staff.
- Help reinforce clear, age-appropriate expectations for participants to support a positive experience.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and general care of equipment, supplies, and program spaces.
- Participate in occasional meetings or trainings to stay informed and connected with program activities.
- Be mindful of participant safety by identifying and reporting potential hazards or concerns to staff.
- Support program philosophy by encouraging fun, participation, skill development, and teamwork.
- Assist staff with organizing activities, games, or events.
Minimum Qualifications
Helpful Skills & Experience
The following are not required, but may help volunteers feel more comfortable in the role:
- Interest in or familiarity with recreation programs, youth activities, or softball.
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or similar setting.
- Willingness to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Valid driver’s license, if volunteering in roles that involve transportation or off-site activities.
